Baird visiting China and Southeast Asia
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced last week that he will be traveling in China and Southeast Asia from July 7-22, 2012. His trip will start in Hong Kong, where he will meet government officials and business leaders. He then will go on to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum. On the ASEAN agenda: the situation on the Korean Peninsula, maritime security, economic prosperity, promotion of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Baird’s tour will also include stops in Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines and Shanghai.
