Erin Weir is currently campaigning for the leadership of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. He has worked as an economist with the United Steelworkers union, the International Trade Union Confederation’s world headquarters in Brussels, and the Canadian Labour Congress. His career began in the federal public service with the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Department of Finance, and the Privy Council Office. Mr. Weir completed degrees at the University of Regina, University of Calgary and Queen’s University, which awarded him the Gow Medal for the highest academic standing in its public administration program. On a volunteer basis, he has served as a research associate for the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and as chair of the Progressive Economics Forum.
